Chapter Summaries & Analyses
Fallon’s friend Amber convinces Fallon to go out this November 9th. They get drunk quickly, and Fallon kisses Theodore, the boy she’s been dating. Ben suddenly shows up and joins the couple at their table, asking questions about soulmates. He reveals that he believes Fallon is his soulmate and that he waited for her at their set restaurant for hours that morning.
Fallon goes to the bathroom and Ben follows, dragging her into a supply closet; he asks her to go home with him so he can explain what happened between him and Jordyn. She refuses. They return to the table, and Ben tells Theodore that he’s in love with Fallon and he’s taking her home. Theodore attacks Ben, the group is escorted out by bouncers, and Theodore insults Fallon. Ben, Amber, and Amber’s boyfriend Glenn attack Theodore. Afterward, Fallon finally agrees to go home with Ben.
Ben tells Fallon that his relationship with Jordyn ended last November 9th, because they both decided they were hurting each other in their grief for other people (Fallon and Kyle). He now lives in his own apartment; he takes Fallon there, and they become intimate.
